In addition to being a mom, I’m a published poet, columnist and essayist. I currently serve as leader of the S. Austin chapter of Attachment Parenting International. I’ve been an educator for over two decades, an arts organizer for 15+ years, and have performed poetry and presented at various festivals, schools, and readings around the country.
Raised in Taos, New Mexico, where my parents moved in the late sixties to study with a guru and meditate, you probably won’t be surprised that I am far left of center and have been a vegetarian since birth. I currently live in Austin, Texas with my son Cavanaugh True. I have more hobbies than I can name and have a list of 50 fun things I like to do. I figure if I’ve got them written down I’ll remember to actually do them.
I started writing mamaTRUE in October 2008, right before my son turned two. To read about the blog’s evolution, check out About mamaTRUE.
